Reworks introduces 3 acts in collaboration with 3 Supporting Institutions

Reworks is happy to collaborate and present 3 acts in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden, The Norwegian Embassy and the Luxemburg Music Export office. Sailor & I and Cleveland will be presented for the very first time in Greece, whereas Rune Lindbaek returns after a long time in Thessaloniki.

Alexander Sjodin makes music of a similar persuasion – curiously compulsive and at the same time beautiful and strangely brutal. The 30-year-old producer, instrumentalist and singer from Stockholm has created “Tough Love”, a glacial track about adult relationships that recalls both Rhye and Fleet Foxes with its delicate string-led production, soaring vocal harmonies and its bright, frank imagery. We are more than thrilled to have Sailor & I in this year’s Reworks in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden and we already know that his performance will be one of this year’s highlights.

Rune Lindbæk from the now legendary ‘Those Norwegians’ recording outfit has been releasing music since 1992. He has produced with the disco heroes Idjut Boys and Lindstrøm, and remixed artists like The Knife, José Gonzalez and Bryan Ferry. He has released music with seminal labels like Smalltown Supersound, Apollo/R&S, Noid and his own Drum Island Records. Rune’s musical output ranges from ambient to film music and balearic dub disco. His unique DJ style has taken him to 25 countries and he held a monthly residency at Oslo´s legendary basement Nomaden for nine years that has been a huge influence on the Norwegian deep disco explosion. We are happy to host him with us this year in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy.

Cleveland brings a strong element of story telling to his tracks, often combining long runtimes with a progressive and trippy feel. Andrea Mancini splices together mystical synths, mischievous basslines and drops that roll so effortlessly into one-and-other, that it’s almost hypnotic. These qualities are what have caused heavyweights such as John Talabot, Alex Boman and many more to regularly drop tracks from his debut on Oskar Offermann’s respected Berlin imprint WHITE.
Cleveland has been around since 2012 with DJ sets and recently also live performances, playing around Europe in some of the most respected venues and events like About Blank, Chalet, Fuse, Nouveau Casino, Gewolbe, Nuits Sonores, with the most relevant figures of the house and techno scene like Sven Vath, Roman Flugel and many others. Mixmag and other influential media have been
supporting him. This is his first performance in Greece and we are really looking forward to his appearance at this year’s Reworks festival.
