Between Rhythm and Ritual

For more than a decade, Dest has been closely connected to the musical identity of Mykonos. As a longtime resident DJ and Music Director of Alemagou, he has played a key role in shaping the venue’s distinctive sound and the culture that has grown around it.

His sets move freely across deep and tech house, dub, reggae, funk, afro and world music, shifting naturally from laid-back, downtempo selections to more driving dancefloor moments. Rather than being defined by a single genre, Dest’s approach is built around selection, atmosphere and an instinctive understanding of the setting.

His journey in Mykonos has also included residencies at Cavo Paradiso and other venues across the island, alongside appearances throughout Greece and internationally, from London and Tokyo to Melbourne, where he has held seasonal residencies during the Australian summer.

Beyond DJing, Dest is also behind M A R S YA S, a live project combining electronic production, sampling and sequencing with musicians performing on ancient and traditional instruments, creating an experimental journey through ambient and electronic sound.

Deeply rooted in the island’s electronic music scene, Dest remains one of the figures closely associated with the evolution of Mykonos’ contemporary musical identity.
