Although Sama’ Abdulhadi became the first Palestinian DJ to achieve global recognition, her impact extends far beyond that milestone. She has emerged as one of contemporary techno’s most distinctive voices, combining uncompromising, high-energy performances with an unwavering commitment to supporting the electronic music community in Palestine and the wider Middle East.
Born in Jordan and raised in Ramallah, Abdulhadi’s journey into electronic music took shape in Beirut, where she immersed herself in the city’s thriving underground scene. Drawing inspiration from both Berlin techno and the energy of Arab club culture, she developed a powerful, driving sound that has become instantly recognizable on dancefloors worldwide.
Her international breakthrough arrived in 2018 with her Boiler Room performance from Ramallah, a landmark set that has since accumulated more than 15 million views and introduced audiences around the world to Palestine’s emerging electronic music scene. Since then, she has performed at many of the world’s leading festivals and clubs, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Primavera, Circoloco, Fusion, Lost Village, EXIT Festival, Warung and AVA Festival, while also delivering BBC Radio 1’s prestigious Essential Mix.
Beyond the booth, Abdulhadi has consistently used her international platform to amplify artists and creative communities from Palestine. Through initiatives such as Union in Ramallah, Bring Back Beirut and Resilience, she has created opportunities for collaboration, cultural exchange and artistic expression, demonstrating that electronic music can be both a powerful artistic language and a catalyst for community.
