Shaped by Rhythm, Driven by Techno

Long before techno entered the picture, there was soul, hip-hop, blues and funk. For Thessaloniki-born Penny Morado, rhythm came first — and traces of those early influences can still be heard in the way she approaches a dancefloor today: through groove, movement and a constant sense of momentum.

Her route into electronic music began with minimal techno and became more defined after joining No Love at 23, where time behind the decks allowed her to turn those influences into a language of her own. Rather than settling into one corner of techno, her sound has gradually grown faster and more physical, built around rolling rhythms, hypnotic basslines and the kind of tension that works through a crowd rather than simply hitting it head-on.

A residency at The Host Club placed Penny firmly within Thessaloniki’s techno circuit. As the club’s only female resident DJ during that period, she developed her sets week after week in one of the city’s dedicated spaces for the genre — an environment that gave her the freedom to sharpen both her selection and her relationship with the dancefloor.

That trajectory has since put her on lineups alongside Chris Liebing, Dax J, I Hate Models, Parfait, Indira Paganotto, Clara Cuvé, Lee Ann Roberts and Yousuke Yukimatsu, among others. More recently, she took her sound outside Thessaloniki with a Mykonos debut at Cavo Paradiso, sharing the bill with Meduza.

Rooted in the city where it all began but increasingly reaching beyond it, Penny Morado arrives at reworks with a sound shaped as much by where she started as by where she is heading.

Shaping Sound, Style and Identity

For Myrophora, music and image are part of the same aesthetic language. Based in Thessaloniki and drawing inspiration from electronic music, fashion and contemporary visual culture, she is gradually shaping a personal identity behind the decks.

Her sets move between progressive and melodic house, techno elements and unexpected flashes of pop, favouring flow and narrative over strict genre boundaries. Her appearances have taken her from Thessaloniki and Athens to Mykonos, where she holds a residency at Super Paradise.

As a member of the NON team, she has previously appeared at reworks, while her path so far also includes a performance at the Panathenaic Stadium alongside Anna Vissi and collaborations with international brands including Yves Saint Laurent. Sound, styling and presence come together in an approach that sees DJing not simply as music selection, but as a broader form of creative expression.

Hypnotic Depth in Motion

In Vertical Slope’s sound, intensity comes through progression rather than excess. Hypnotic patterns, dub influences and deep, repetitive textures shape sets that unfold patiently while remaining firmly connected to the dancefloor.

Behind the project is Josh Roll, a sound engineering graduate and co-founder of GREZI. Through key residencies and appearances alongside established names in electronic music, he has developed his own approach to techno, built around atmosphere, depth and movement.

In recent years, production has become an increasingly important part of his work, bringing this aesthetic from the DJ booth into the studio and further defining the identity of Vertical Slope.

A Sound in Constant Motion

Adriatique have built their identity on the art of progression. The music of Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer unfolds patiently, balancing hypnotic rhythms with melodic depth, tension and emotion — a language they have refined over the years without allowing it to stand still.

That evolution is particularly present in their recent studio work. Following releases such as ‘Miracle’ with WhoMadeWho, ‘Like A Dream’ with Rivo and ‘Love’s A Game’ with Bipolar Sunshine, 2026 has brought a new run of collaborations, including ‘Lost In The Woods’ with Elderbrook, ‘Closer’ with Emmit Fenn and ‘Coming Home’ with rhys from the sticks. Their current output moves freely between melodic house and techno, cinematic electronics and songwriting, while retaining the slow-building intensity that has become central to their sound.

Beyond their own productions and DJ sets, Adriatique have gradually built a creative ecosystem around their music. Their Siamese label, founded in 2016, has developed into a platform for artists sharing their forward-looking approach to electronic music, while X and X Recordings extend that vision into audiovisual productions and new releases. In 2026, X continues its international journey through cities including Athens, New York and London, ahead of its headline debut at Ibiza’s UNVRS.

From major festival stages such as Awakenings to their own productions around the world, Adriatique continue to operate at the forefront of contemporary electronic music while constantly reshaping the boundaries of their own sound.

Where electronic music is created in real time

Most artists step onto the stage to perform their music. KiNK steps onto it to create it. Every live show is an open-ended exercise in improvisation, where drum machines, synthesizers and sequencers become instruments, and no two performances ever unfold the same way.

Born and raised in Sofia, Strahil Velchev carved his own path long before Bulgaria’s electronic scene gained international recognition. Through the pBPM collective and a string of acclaimed releases on labels including Macro, Running Back, Ovum and Rush Hour, he developed a sound that moves effortlessly between house, techno, acid and analogue experimentation, refusing to settle into a single musical category.

His international breakthrough came not only through his productions, but through a radically different approach to live performance. Rather than recreating finished tracks, KiNK embraces unpredictability, reshaping his music in real time and allowing each performance to evolve with the energy of the moment. This philosophy has established him as one of electronic music’s most celebrated live performers, earning appearances at leading clubs and festivals worldwide, as well as multiple accolades including Resident Advisor readers’ Best Live Act.

Alongside his performances, he continues to expand his catalogue through his own Sofia Records imprint, while his productions and remixes have become a lasting influence across contemporary electronic music.

At reworks 2026, KiNK returns to Thessaloniki for a special b2b performance with Raredub, bringing together two of the most exciting figures to emerge from Bulgaria’s contemporary electronic scene.

Joy, House Music & Purpose

Jayda G is one of those rare artists who moves effortlessly between music, science and social awareness. A Grammy-nominated DJ and producer, biologist and documentary host, she has built a distinctive artistic identity where uplifting house music meets emotional honesty and environmental consciousness.

From her acclaimed debut Significant Changes to the deeply personal Guy, alongside collaborations with Fred again.. and remixes for Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa, Jayda G has continuously evolved while staying true to the joyful energy that defines her sound. Her latest single, The Shiver, marks a new chapter inspired by motherhood and a confident return to the dancefloor.

Her DJ sets are celebrated for their infectious positivity, seamlessly blending house, disco and soul with contemporary club sounds. It’s no surprise that Annie Mac once described her as “one of my favourite DJs ever to watch.”

Beyond music, Jayda G remains deeply engaged with environmental science and storytelling, proving that artistic expression and meaningful advocacy can coexist. Her debut appearance at reworks brings one of contemporary house music’s most inspiring and distinctive voices to Thessaloniki.

Kittin | Where the Story Began

At the first raves in Grenoble, a small group of friends found themselves immersed in a new world of electronic music. Among them were Caroline Hervé and Michel Amato, unaware that only a few years later they would write one of the defining chapters of modern club culture together.

Kittin’s collaboration with The Hacker produced landmark tracks such as Frank Sinatra, 1982 and Silver Screen Shower Scene—records that left a lasting mark on European electronic music and helped shape what would later become known as electroclash.

Since then, Kittin has never stood still. As a producer, vocalist and DJ, she has continued to expand her artistic language, moving effortlessly between electro, techno, synth-pop and experimental electronics. Nearly three decades into her career, she remains a defining presence in contemporary club culture—not only because of what she created, but because of her constant evolution.

In 2026, Kittin returns to reworks for a special b2b set with Lacchesi, bringing together two distinct generations and perspectives of contemporary electronic music.

The New Face of Bulgaria’s Club Underground

Some tracks outgrow their release date and become permanent fixtures in DJs’ libraries. “Time to Change”, Raredub’s collaboration with KiNK, is one of them. The industrial club weapon quickly found its way into the sets of artists including KETTAMA, Skin On Skin, Partiboi69, Tommy Holohan, Daria Kolosova and Special Request, putting the Sofia-based producer firmly on the radar of the international underground.

Since his debut on Sofia Records in 2021, followed by releases on Mutual Pleasure, Mutual Rytm and Steel City Dance Discs, Raredub has been shaping a sound that fuses techno, industrial textures and contemporary UK club influences without ever losing sight of the dancefloor. Precise, high-impact and uncompromising, his productions are built for peak-time moments rather than fleeting trends.

His latest EP, Embrace the Edge, reinforces that vision and confirms Raredub as one of the most exciting new voices emerging from Bulgaria’s electronic music scene—an artist whose trajectory is only gathering momentum.

At reworks 2026, Raredub joins forces with KiNK for a special back-to-back set, reuniting two artists whose creative chemistry has already produced one of the underground’s most enduring club records.

Techno in Constant Transformation

Anetha has become one of the defining figures of a new generation reshaping contemporary techno. A DJ, producer, label founder, talent agency co-founder and trained architect, she has built a multidisciplinary artistic identity where music, visual aesthetics and social consciousness naturally converge.

Since emerging from Paris’ underground scene in 2012, she has developed a distinctive sound that moves effortlessly between techno, trance and experimental electronics. Combining driving rhythms, euphoric melodies and emotional depth, her sets have established her as one of Europe’s most compelling electronic artists.

Her debut album Mothearth marked a major artistic milestone. Blending techno, rave, post-club and drum & bass influences, the record explores themes of sustainability, femininity and identity, transforming personal experiences into an ambitious and genre-defying body of work.

That vision extends into EXHIBIT, her first audiovisual live show, where music, large-scale visuals and immersive installations merge into an evolving performance that blurs the boundaries between club culture and contemporary art.

Alongside her artistic work, Anetha continues to shape the wider electronic music landscape through her labels Mama Told Ya and Fané.e, as well as the agency Mama Loves Ya, promoting emerging talent and advocating for more sustainable practices across the industry.

Anetha joins reworks 2026, bringing one of the most forward-thinking and constantly evolving visions in contemporary electronic music.

A Study in Techno

For more than two decades, Ben Klock has remained one of the defining figures of contemporary techno. Since becoming a Berghain resident in 2005, the legendary Berlin club has served not only as the foundation of his international career, but also as the place where he refined a distinctive approach to DJing—one built on patience, precision, tension and an exceptional sense of flow.

The same philosophy runs through his productions. Releases such as One, Dawning with Marcel Dettmann and the iconic Subzero have become enduring milestones in modern techno, while his productions and remixes reflect a commitment to timeless, uncompromising music rather than passing trends.

That vision also extends to Klockworks, the label he founded in 2006, which has become a home for artists sharing the same uncompromising artistic direction. Beyond the club, his audiovisual project PHOTON expanded his creative language, bringing together music, light and architecture in immersive performances presented at landmark venues around the world.

Some artists leave their mark on a festival. Others become part of its story. Ben Klock already holds the record for the most appearances in reworks history—a relationship that, over the years, has grown into one of the festival’s defining traditions.

The Evolution of an Artistic Identity

ARGY has emerged as one of the defining creative voices in contemporary electronic music. Far beyond his productions, he has built a fully realised artistic universe where music, visual identity and aesthetics operate as a single narrative, extending his influence beyond the dancefloor into fashion and contemporary culture.

Having first established himself through the underground house and techno scene, the Greek artist has evolved into one of the leading figures of modern melodic techno. His collaboration with Afterlife marked a new chapter in his career, while releases including Tataki, Aria and Sierra became global successes, amassing hundreds of millions of streams.

That vision reached its fullest expression with New World and NEWORLD II, two interconnected albums that evolved into an ambitious audiovisual concept presented around the world. From major international festivals to sold-out headline shows across Europe, North America and Asia, ARGY’s performances combine cinematic storytelling with the energy of peak-time club music.

Following his appearance at reworks agora 2024, ARGY returns to Thessaloniki for reworks 2026, making his first festival appearance at reworks since 2009 with the latest chapter of his ever-evolving artistic vision.

The artist who brought techno to the world’s biggest stages

Long before electronic live acts became arena spectacles, Paul Kalkbrenner had already proven that techno could captivate tens of thousands of people without losing its essence. Choosing early on to leave traditional DJing behind, he built a career around performing only his own music, pioneering a live format that would become one of the most distinctive in electronic music.

Raised in Berlin during the years following the fall of the Wall, Kalkbrenner grew alongside the city’s emerging techno culture. His international breakthrough came with the landmark film Berlin Calling, in which he starred while also composing its soundtrack. Its standout track, Sky and Sand, went on to become one of the defining electronic records of the 21st century, remaining on the German singles chart for an unprecedented 121 weeks—a record that still stands today.

Across eight studio albums and more than 130 original productions, Kalkbrenner has built one of electronic music’s most recognisable catalogues. His performances have filled iconic venues such as Berlin’s Waldbühne and Wuhlheide, while in 2014 he became the first techno artist to perform on Tomorrowland’s Mainstage. That same year, he was invited by the German Federal Government to perform in front of more than 400,000 people during the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Despite his global success, Paul Kalkbrenner has remained committed to the same philosophy that shaped his career from the very beginning: creating and performing music entirely on his own terms, with a sound that remains instantly recognisable.

The Global Force Behind Psy-Techno

Speed, psychedelia and relentless momentum sit at the heart of Indira Paganotto’s sound. Blending hypnotic grooves with uncompromising techno energy, the Spanish DJ and producer has become one of the defining figures behind the global rise of psy-techno.

Her breakthrough arrived remarkably early. At just 17 years old, Ian Pooley discovered her during a warm-up set in Gran Canaria and signed three of her vinyl releases to Pooled Music. Soon after, she moved to Madrid, laying the foundations for a career that would quickly extend far beyond Spain.

Rather than following trends, Paganotto has carved out a musical identity entirely her own. Releases, collaborations and marathon DJ sets have established a sound that moves effortlessly between driving techno and psychedelic intensity. Alongside Nina Kraviz, she released White Horse, while her label ARTCORE has grown into one of the scene’s most distinctive imprints, helping shape a new generation of artists and audiences around the world.

From remixing Depeche Mode to commanding the stages of Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Sónar, Coachella, and EXIT, her ascent has been both rapid and uncompromising. Milestones such as becoming the first woman to close the main stage at Monegros and her acclaimed residency at Hï Ibiza further underline her position among the most influential artists in contemporary electronic music.

This September, Indira Paganotto makes her reworks debut. One of the most exciting artists of techno’s new generation joins the festival for the first time, bringing her unmistakable energy and one of today’s most in-demand performances to Thessaloniki.

From the Rave to the New Wave of Hypnotic Techno

PINELOPI is part of a new generation of Greek techno artists steadily building an international profile through powerful DJ sets and a growing catalogue of productions that bridge hypnotic and driving techno. Her performances have taken her across Europe, with appearances in Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Turkey and at Amsterdam Dance Event, while a standout set at Berlin’s iconic KitKat Club marked another important milestone in her ascent.

As a producer, she has earned growing recognition through releases that fuse raw energy with atmospheric depth. Tracks such as I Can Jump, alongside Bleur and MB1 on No Love, and From Temple to Cell on Oskyrth have received strong support across the techno community, with the latter reaching No. 1 on Beatport’s Raw Deep Hypnotic and Peak Time Driving Techno charts.

Deeply influenced by rave culture, PINELOPI has developed a sound built on gradual progression, hypnotic atmospheres and carefully controlled intensity. Rather than relying on constant climaxes, her DJ sets unfold with cinematic flow, where every transition contributes to a larger musical narrative.

With a distinctive artistic identity and an expanding international presence, PINELOPI continues to establish herself as one of the most promising new voices in Greek techno, steadily making her mark as both a DJ and producer.

Andreas Athineos is an excellent example of the younger generation of Greek electronic DJs.

Born and raised in Thessaloniki his sound could be described as a mixture of soulful house and afro-house, with its origins ranging from classic house. Today he is one of the most busy DJs in the city performing constantly on the Thessaloniki’s top spots as well as all around the country.  On his return to Reworks festival, he’ll showcase his beautiful, emotional afro-house sound, going b2b with Damike just before Tripolism and Black Coffee — a key reason to be there early on the festival’s opening day.
