Renos Charalambidis was born in Athens in 1970 and is an actor, screenwriter, and director. Largely self-taught, with additional training in independent theatre workshops, he has developed a distinctive presence across theatre, television, and cinema.

He has starred in numerous productions while also writing and directing five films, shaping a personal cinematic language. He made his directorial debut in 1997 with No Budget Story, a black-and-white romantic film that introduced a new creative perspective, followed in 2000 by Cheap Smokes (Ftina Tsigara), a work often described as a “jazz improvisation” in film form, capturing the spirit of a generation at the turn of the late ’90s.

Alongside his film work, he is active as a radio producer and columnist, contributing regularly to newspapers, magazines, and digital media. His work has been recognized at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Istanbul International Film Festival, where he received the FIPRESCI Award.
