Vaggelis Rissou

Lagasta label founder, DJ

Vangelis Rissou works in music the last 27 years.

He has studied finance and management in Irakleio, Crete, where he was also working as a DJ and a radio producer.

Member of the highly influential music site LAGASTA and the label LAGASTA records, he has played music in London Fashion Week, on the NYC Downlow at the Glastonbury Festival, in Love International festival and at the VIP stage of Melt Festival among others, while he was holding a residency at the Dalston Superstore in London.

In Thessaloniki he lived for 10 years and worked in many bars of the city and in the radio, while he created the concept parties “Can you Relate?” with a different theme every time that was also part of the aesthetics and the design of the venue and guests such as Horse Meat Disco, Duke Dumont, Shit Robot, The Magician etc.

Later on the LAGASTA events with Tim Sweeney, The blessed Madonna, Massimiliano Pagliara, Andy Butler, Kim Ann Foxman among others. He has also been writing on magazines such as SOUL and LIFO whereas the last five years he resides between Greece and New York, collaborating with big venues such as Good Room and Le Bain at the Standard. His most recent project is Boys’ Shorts, the electronic duo that he created with Tareq.
