We are excited to announce the venues for reworks 2024 !

Since its inception, reworks has showcased the diverse spectrum of contemporary electronic music in Greece, integrating itself as a vibrant part of Thessaloniki. By hosting events across various locations in the city, reworks aims to tell different stories to its visitors.

From the east to the west of Thessaloniki, reworks bridges cultures and spotlights neighborhoods, breaking stereotypes along the way. At its core, the festival is all about the music and exploring its connection to space and the urban environment. This evolution and expression across diverse venues make reworks the only festival of its kind in Greece.

This year, reworks continues with this philosophy, and for its 20th anniversary edition, it maintains some of its beloved locations while adding two exciting new venues. For the first time, reworks by night will take place near the airport area on Friday, September 20th, with a large main stage. Then, on Saturday, September 21st, reworks by day will debut at the open space of the Historic Building of the Former Municipal Slaughterhouse (ex L’abattoir), featuring two large open stages.

Palataki (Royal Palace) is the neoclassical mansion located at the cape of Karabournaki in Kalamaria (Thessaloniki) and has probably the finest view in the city. It is a fine example of neoclassical architecture, designed in the 1950s by I. Christopoulos.

The Royal Palace  is not open to the public. Following the success of reworks, reworks agora and preworks in 2021 and 2022, we are ready to return to the yard of this emblematic location for a 3-day music experience.

The yard of the imposing historical building will host reworks by day  on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th and Friday 2oth of September .

Practical info: 

• Due to the high attendance expected,  we kindly advise you to come as early as possible in order to avoid delays on entry. Plus enjoying and supporting all artists performing from the beginning which is also very important.
• Kivernio is situated in Kalamaria. We advise the use of taxis or public transport (bus) as there is no parking space nearby.
• POS accepting credit cards will be available at every sales point on the venue, but due to restricted and therefore weak 3G & 4G signal in the area of Palataki, there are periods where the POS credit card receivers are not even operating. Therefore  it is strongly recommended to have cash with you in order to avoid any unpleasant delays when served.

Historic Building of the Former Municipal Slaughterhouse (ex L’abattoir)

The former slaughterhouse of Thessaloniki was built in 1896 and operated until 1988. It is located in the industrial area of the city, next to the commercial section of the port. In 1994 the building was declared a protected monument. Recently the old industrial building was transformed into a cultural multi-space, also known as “L’ abattoir”.

In 1994, the building was designated a preserved monument by the Ministry of Culture, as it is a prime example of early 20th-century industrial architecture.
