The Rhythm of DESIREE

DESIREE belongs to a new generation of South African artists reshaping the global language of house music. Moving freely between deep, rhythmic and percussive territories, she has developed a distinctive DJ style built on versatility, unexpected turns and an instinctive understanding of the dancefloor.

That approach has taken her from Panorama Bar, DC-10 and fabric to Coachella, Glastonbury, Burning Man and Hï Ibiza, alongside a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and appearances for Boiler Room and Rinse FM.

Her creative world increasingly extends beyond the booth. MMINO, initially conceived as a party centred around equality and inclusivity, evolved into a music platform in 2025 with her Intersexy EP, featuring “Khuluma Nami” with Jabulile Majola. Her growing production catalogue also includes reinterpretations of Nina Simone, Disclosure & Pa Salieu, Keinemusik, LP Giobbi and South African jazz artist Salaelo Selota.

As an intersex woman, DESIREE also uses her platform to advocate for greater representation and diversity, supporting women and queer communities in house music through initiatives such as Boys Club.

Connecting her South African roots with dancefloors around the world, DESIREE is building an artistic identity that reaches far beyond any single definition of house music.
