The Talk: An artistic creation curated by reworks, Nuits Sonores, Sonar and Terraforma

Inspired by the Antikythera mechanism – the world’s first known computer – the piece imagines an atemporal realm where sound, speech, and scenography merge to open portals into the unknown.

Reworks takes part in this year’s Nuits Sonores in Lyon with plenty of co-curations and a distinctive international collaboration: the multi-disciplinary performance The Talk. Presented within the Times programme, the project reflects reworks’ ongoing engagement with contemporary festival culture, contributing Greek creativity to the broader European conversation.

Premiering tonight at Le Sucre during Nuit 1 of Nuits Sonores 2025, The Talk brings together musicians Heith and James K, artist-researcher Günseli Yalcinkaya, and set designer Andrea Belosi in a surreal panel-style performance. Inspired by the Antikythera mechanism – the world’s first known computer – the piece imagines an atemporal realm where sound, speech, and scenography merge to open portals into the unknown.

Through hypnotic sonic textures and spoken word sequences, The Talk explores how narratives, filtered through various technological lenses, shape our perception of reality.

The development of the performance unfolded over several months of preparation across three different countries — including Greece — as part of the TIMES project and under the curatorial guidance of Reworks, Nuits Sonores, Sonar and Terraforma.
